Rebecca Greaves

Secretary/Communications

Meet Rebecca, a performance enthusiast with quite a story to share. Back in Grade 8, her class performed a roadshow along the infamous Alaska Highway. Rebecca was part of the band, skillfully playing the flute. But, when one of the actors suddenly lost their voice, without missing a beat, Rebecca swooped in to save the day. Without a single rehearsal, she fearlessly took on the role of Abbott in an Abbott and Costello skit. Talk about a spontaneous performance that would make even the most seasoned actors tremble with envy! That unforgettable moment on stage ignited a spark within Rebecca, causing her to fall head over heels in love with everything related to theater. Throughout high school, she gracefully danced her way through the halls, and when she entered university, she decided to take up Ballroom Dancing. But Rebecca's theatrical adventures didn't stop there. In high school, she secured minor roles in iconic productions like "Calamity Jane" and "Funny Girl." And let's not forget her shining achievement as the mischievous Cheshire Cat in the whimsical Missoula Children's Theatre performance of "Alice in Wonderland." It's safe to say that Rebecca's talent and passion for the stage were unstoppable. However, as she ventured into university, Rebecca's love for the limelight took a surprising twist. She found herself drawn to the behind-the-scenes magic of theater and became the stage manager for not just one but two productions: the uproariously funny "Arsenic and Old Lace" and the soul-stirring "Godspell." And if that wasn't enough, she even took on the role of choreographer for the latter, making sure every dance move was a dazzling spectacle. But life has its own twists and turns, and after university, Rebecca's stage career took an intermission. She packed her bags and embarked on a twelve-year adventure abroad, showcasing her culture to the world. Finally, nine years ago, she returned to the embrace of Canadian soil, accompanied by her partner and two adorable children. Now a proud mother of three, Rebecca has instilled her love for the arts in her children from a tender age. Whether it's singing in a chorus, playing music in the school band, creating masterpieces with a box of crayons, or captivating audiences with children's drama productions, the arts have always been a central part of their lives. And while Rebecca may prefer the magic that happens backstage, you may have caught a glimpse of her passing a child around in the charming Carmen Arts production of "Anne of Green Gables." Today, you can find Rebecca inspiring and igniting the spark of passion within the students in her classroom. Armed with creativity, talent, and infectious enthusiasm, she encourages her students to pursue their artistic dreams. -- A little sunshine means a lot of smiles!
